In this section we research the confines of democracy, as this is applied in the dominant educational system and to what extend Solidarity Schools can attribute to the democratic empowerment of their members, beyond classroom and educational procedures.
We approach the questions:
- How do we understand democracy in the frame of an educational community? What other sections does it include?
- What are the abilities and the limitations of student participation in the organisation and function of the public school?
- Can solidarity schools contribute to democratic transformation of dominant educational sectors through the culture of social participation they promote?
